A commercial elevator is far too large for a normal residence. No separation between dining and living areas although it is certainly open enough to accommodate a very large table. The ceilings in the expansion area start at only 6 feet while the existing living areas are 8 feet, while they do get higher due to the cathedral ceiling (not a fan). Insufficient storage and counter space in the kitchen. Unless that is a child's table, there is no way a table with 6 chairs will fit in the place you put it in the kitchen. Why are there cabinets over the kitchen window? A floor plan with dimensions and labels would have been helpful. I think I found the laundry but cannot locate the pantry.
this was a very artistic interpretation of our request, and a very creative and neat addition - however it was not really what we asked for, which was something in harmony with the existing home. the roof of the structure was fascinating and creative but in my view is not practical. it obscures the view from the upstairs window and also would seem to drain liquid toward the house. much of the graphics provided were highly redundant. the inability to open the windows to get ventillation in warm days was not appealing. i liked the stone corners of the structure, but did not particularly like the slant of them, which again was not in keeping with the existing. the solution did nothing to enhance the upstairs living space above the kitchen.
Love the design ideas and boldness of the design. Beautiful work. Given the all wood structure of the walls not sure if we are easy to paint all the walls. Love the details including the lighting ideas.
Having the dining room covered by the ceiling of the new room was not pleasing. The door to the back yard does not seem to be build-able, tying into nothing but screen. The rockscaping was very nice, and did give us some ideas for the BBQ area.
You had some great ideas in your floor plan. I loved your spa and water feature also. Thank you so much for submitting! I really appreciate your efforts.
