It was a pleasure to work on your kitchen renovation project! I did, indeed remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room, as well as the partition wall at the end of the kitchen. I’ve given you a large island/breakfast bar with seating. Rather than continuing the dark granite countertops from the range side of the kitchen, I’ve topped the island with stainless steel – to add just a touch of an industrial feel. You indicated you enjoy a mix of textures and finishes so, I’ve covered the wall behind the range/hood in a beautiful stacked stone. I’ve also added the stacked stone between the floor cabinets and wall cabinets in the newly classified “butler’s pantry” area. I did remove your china cabinets and gave you lots more counter/prep space and, even a little table and a couple chairs in front of your glass door. This would be perfect to watch the goings-on outside while enjoying a cup of coffee with a friend. You have a beautiful canvas to work on – I wish you all the best in your renovation endeavors!
