Remodel of fireplace in main living area that will require placing 55" television (not the one in the pictures). The room is fairly large with a cathedral ceiling.
We just moved in and looking to make a change.
I would like to include an area adjacent to the fireplace to house AV receiver, PlayStation, cable box, and maybe one other item.
I would like the TV as close as to the fireplace as possible so as not to look up for extended periods of time; however, I recognize the need to have some spacing due to heat. An option would be a shelf in between where I could but a soundbar (possible 43" in length), but I don't have one and have not decided to purchase one yet. I'm still trying to decide what to do with the sound system.
Gas fireplace and it is functional. Fairly new glass doors on fireplace. I don't need a place to store wood (which it has now).
Home was built in 1979. Design to match existing architecture style/details of the room, but with a twist of modernization.
The room is white and we will not be painting.
Will not be changing floors.
Our selection criteria will be:
Affordability of design (trying to stay less than $5,000 US construction fees).
Ability to modernize, but be so different from the rest of the house (or homes in the area).
