The exterior design comes from a deep analysis of the climate where these buildings must be built, the goal was to combine esthetics, the use of cheap materials and energetic efficiency. The project is characterized by a wood panel shell throughout the building, it allows to create a gap of 15 cm in front of the outside wall. This gap has a double function: either to shadow the outside wall avoiding the sun to hit it directly and also let the tubes and other implants to be put outside and saving money without hiding them.
To soften the modularity of this design, there are some coloured parts, not covered by wood. The pastel colours selected are picked from typical Camerun fabrics.
